Oak Street School Carloop

For the safety of our children and our staff, please follow our car loop drop off/pick up guidelines:

• Cars should enter the car loop by crossing West Oak Street from Lee Place, not turning right or left from Oak Street into the parking lot. Traveling from West Oak Street, turn onto Hillside Terrace and then make the second left turn onto Lee Place. Follow Lee Place to West Oak Street and cross into the car loop when safe. 
• When safe to cross West Oak Street into the parking lot, please be mindful of walkers on the sidewalk. Before you drive across the street and into the car loop, please be sure that your entire car will fit without blocking the sidewalk. Please note that school staff members are not permitted to direct traffic. Crosswalk teachers are there to safely escort children across the driveways on the sidewalk. Please help them keep all of the children safe.
• Please be considerate of our neighbors and do not block private driveways while waiting in line to drop off or pick up your child.
• In the drop-off/pick-up zone:
  • Have your children ready for a speedy exit from and entrance to your vehicle.
  • Pull as far down as possible on the car loop so we can allow for the greatest number of students to be picked up or dropped off at one time.
  • Be sure that students only exit and enter the car on the sidewalk side of the vehicle.
  • Do not exit your vehicle at any time during drop off or pick up.
• When exiting the school, please turn RIGHT onto West Oak Street. 
• AM drop-off begins at 8:30. PM pick-up begins at 3:30. To line up for PM pick-up, follow the same traffic pattern. When the parking lot is full, cars should line up on Lee Place, not West Oak St. 
• Consider parking on Henry St / Rankin Ave and choosing Henry St. as a Dismissal option.
